[I am posting this on behalf of Carola Tress. My own not entirely
objective opinion is that all of these can be highly recommended, not only
for the quality of the tuition but also for the opportunity of just having
a good time among friends. - AL]

At the Kuckucksnest, Schluechtern-Vollmerz, Germany, there are still some
places available for the following workshops:

- April Weekend Workshop (beginners/intermediate)
April 20th (Thu) 19:00 for supper - 23rd (Su) after lunch
Teacher: Carola Tress, Vollmerz
Piano: Anselm Lingnau, Frankfurt
DM 195,- (conc. DM 165,-)
This course is designed as a follow-on to the Hogmanay workshop, for people
who have just taken up Scottish Country Dancing or those who enjoy
Scottish Country Dancing but don't have an opportunity to do so
regularly. Attention will be given to basic technique, steps, and more
common formations like rights-and-lefts, hands across, reels and such.

- Highland Dancing/Aerobics (beginners/advanced, 2 classes interleaved)
May 25th (Thu; Ascension holiday) 15:00 for coffee - 28th (Su) after lunch
Teacher: Jack Campbell, Frankfurt
DM 220,- (conc. DM 190,-)
The unique combination of Highland dancing and aerobics makes for a weekend
of intense exercise without acheing legs on Monday. Jack Campbell,
accomplished Highland dancer and teacher as well as Aerobics champion
and professional coach, will be teaching two Highland classes, both for
absolute beginners (no Highland Fling this year) and advanced dancers
(programme to be confirmed), in quick alternation. Every day will be
finished off by energetic Aerobics and stretching to loosen up the
cramped muscles.
Scottish Country Dancing on Saturday evening.

- Summer Weekend Workshop (intermediate/advanced)
July 6th (Thu) 19:00 for supper - 9th (Su) after lunch
Teacher: Carola Tress, Vollmerz
Piano: Anselm Lingnau, Frankfurt
DM 195,- (conc. DM 165,-)
This is a `holiday' course whose emphasis will be on nice and interesting
dances and social interaction rather than footwork (which will not be
neglected, though)

The Kuckucksnest (Cuckoo's Nest) is a cosy self-administrated conference
house in a rural setting near Schluechtern (between Frankfurt and Fulda).
It is easily reached by car or public transport (trains to Schluechtern/bus).
There is accommodation for 30, several day rooms and a dance hall. The
surroundings are well suited for hiking, cycling or just sitting on the
front lawn and relaxing.

Prices include accommodation, full board and tuition. Concessions are
available for students and other people without a regular source of income.
Beverages will be supplied at reasonable prices. Please bring your own
bed sheets & covers, towels, and whisky.

To secure a place, please call first to make sure there is still room
available. Then pay, send or transfer an advance of DM 50,-; in the event
of a cancellation within 3 weeks of the beginning of the course this advance
will only be refunded if the place can be taken by somebody else. It may be
worthwhile to call shortly before the beginning of the course to check
whether places have become available on short notice.
